Duo Madriguera
The duo was formed in 1996 and since then Sabine and Enric have enjoyed an active regional and international performance schedule. They have been featured at international festivals in Austria, the Czech Republic, Mexico, and Spain. The Duo has performed in prestigious halls like the Sala Manuel Ponce in Mexico City and the Teatro Villa de Madrid, for the Sociedad Espanola, the guitar society of Madrid. In 1998 the Duo embarked on a six city tour of Peru co-sponsored by Partners of the Americas and the U.S. Embassy. The Plano Symphony Orchestra featured the duo in the Baroque Masterworks program. Duo Madriguera has also toured with the University of Guanajuato, Mexico Symphony Orchestra performing Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto Madrigal for guitar duo and orchestra. The City of Dallas, Office of Cultural Affairs has awarded the duo several grants to underwrite performances and arts projects in Dallas.
Sabine Rabe Madriguera hails from Berlin, Germany. She is degreed from the Hochschule für Musik “Hans Eisler” in Berlin. In 1991 Sabine and Soprano Bettina Eismann were awarded the first and special prize in the duo competition held at Soumagne, Belgium. From 1991 to 1996 Sabine was a faculty member at the Treptow Music School in Berlin. Since 1990 Sabine has been active as a performer and clinician in Europe and the Americas. Sabine is Director of Guitar Studies at Collin County Community College and a member of the Advisory Board to the Dallas Classic Guitar Society.
Enric Madriguera is head of Guitar Studies at Eastfield College, Dallas County Community College and a faculty member at the University of Texas at Dallas. At UTD Enric is Artistic Director for the Guitar Concert series and the Texas Guitar Competition and Festival. He is past advisor, board chair to the Dallas Classic Guitar Society. Enric has a performing, lecturing, and teaching career which spans numerous countries on five continents. Enric has recently been awarded grants (2001 and 2002) by the Montaigne Club of Dallas to perform and teach in Vietnam and in Darwin, Australia for the Northern Territories University. Enric’s solo recording Old World/New World has been praised by the U.S. and European music press. Enric has also performed and recorded with the Dallas contemporary music ensemble Voices of Change. These recordings are entitled: Frida! and Voces Americanas.
